LANSING – State Representative Ed Clemente (D-Lincoln Park), Chair of the House New Economy and Quality of Life Committee, invites members of the media to a special committee meeting on Wednesday, June 10, which will feature presentations focusing on advancements in technology and innovation currently underway at a few key facilities and businesses based in Michigan.
The New Economy and Quality of Life Committee focuses on strategic planning for the state's economy, including building a highly-skilled workforce that will attract 21st century jobs to Michigan. It also works to promote Michigan's best features to draw a young and talented workforce to our state, expand educational opportunities and training in cutting-edge technologies. Guest speakers from chemical company BASF's Wyandotte plant, Ann Arbor-based advanced battery manufacturer Sakti3, and Kalamazoo-based health care company Esphera3 International will present at the meeting.
